Hello Martha and Hilde: Thank you for your message. This great bird was born in this country in Oregon US. That is why he does not know about wilderness and totally attached to humans. It is a little heavier than should be, but is a happy bird. I just met him accidently in the summer on the beach. I don't have pets,- my pets are free and wild. Life can be difficult in the wilderness but the freedom is worth it. ( So they say)
